Newly opened this month, the city of Calgary reached for the stars
when deciding on the architects for the New Central Library.
Already garnering kudos from Architectural Digest as a building to
watch in 2018, its crescent shape and carefully engineered building
site over the Calgary LRT system is indeed a thing of beauty.

Sarah Meilleur, director of service delivery for the
library, says the building will act as a connection
to the community. "It's designed as a gathering
place, visitors will be awed by the Shaikh Family
Welcome Gallery with a beautiful light-filled
atrium stretching a full four floors to the oculus
skylight in the roof."
Planners can rent the 336-seat auditorium on the
street level and there are over 30 meeting rooms
of various sizes that can accommodate groups
as small as 5 or up to 80 people.
