EAST VILLAGE
CALGARY'S NEWEST
CULTURAL HUB
The East Village is rapidly becoming the new cultural
hub for the entire city. Just a couple of blocks past the
Calgary TELUS Convention Centre, the East Village is
the city's oldest newest neighbourhood, with hot new
hotels, cafés, restaurants and stunning architecture.
Studio Bell, home of the National Music Centre anchors
the neighbourhood. Construction is well underway on
the new Central Public Library, slated to open in 2018.
The structure will feature a massive central atrium
crowned by a skylight that spills natural light across all
four storeys. Activity and meeting space will be on the
main floor.
CALGARY TELUS
CONVENTION CENTRE
Connecting entrepreneurs, businesses and intellectual capital is the
goal of the Calgary TELUS Convention Centre (CTCC)
conveniently located in the downtown core. The 2016 World Congress
of the International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and
Neglect chose the CTCC as headquarters for its four-day conference,
which brought international experts to the city for master classes,
networking and an awards dinner.
