2 | Ignitemag.ca | Ignite Destination Supplement T he collection of luxurious hotels and resorts in Scottsdale are nothing short of spectacular, and the new crop of properties being unveiled at the base of Camelback Mountain in neigh- bouring Paradise Valley live up to the gold-level standard. With mountain views that set the stage for this desert retreat, the chic Andaz Scottsdale Resort & Spa will welcome guests by the end of this year. The hotel's 201 guestrooms, each with a terrace, are set out in a collection of bungalows, inspired by mid-century modern art and architecture. A full-ser- vice spa and fitness centre are on site so relaxation and wellness stay top-of- mind, with downtown-area dining and shopping only a short distance away. Ritz-Carlton, Paradise Valley Meeting and event space is plentiful and flexible, with 10,000 sq. ft. indoors and another 36,000 sq. ft. outside. A new Mountain Shadows is set to debut early next year and promises to set the standard for desert luxury. A boutique resort with a hip, urban vibe, each of the 183 guestrooms will be at once luxurious, timeless and inviting. Modern amenities and natural-light-filled spaces give rise to dynamic meetings and events, while sweeping mountain views enhance the ambience of outdoor gathering areas. A par-3, 18-hole Forrest Richardson-designed golf course will also be on site. The showpiece of one of the most luxu- rious residential and retail communities of its kind will open its doors by the end of 2018. Breathtaking mountain vistas from the Grand Lobby will welcome guests to Ritz-Carlton, Paradise Valley—just a taste of the grandeur that lies ahead, from the 400-ft. pool to the world-class spa with desert-inspired treatments. The resort will have 200 casita-style guest- rooms and 20,000 sq. ft. of sophisti- cated meeting and event space. While close enough for guests to enjoy great shopping, entertainment and cuisine in downtown Scottsdale, the development will include a 160,000 sq. ft. luxury bou- tique shopping and dining destination, The Palmaeraie.
