C hâteau des Charmes has deep roots in the region and has just unveiled its newly re-imagined Vineyard Courtyard, a large stone patio area complete with a unique curved roof tent for inclement weather. "Itʼs our largest capital expenditure since the opening of the Château in 1994," says Michèle Bosc, vice-president of marketing and admin- istration at the winery. "With our beautiful backdrop of the Niagara Escarpment and the vineyards, we now do over 100 events over the course of a year." While NOTL is synonymous with wine country and vineyard escapes, the area is also now home to stellar craft breweries. The Exchange Brewery, located in a heritage building right on Main Street, has only been brewing since 2016, but won 2017 Canadian Brewery of the Year at the New York International Brewing Competition. As Canada's oldest designated wine region, visitors flock to Niagara-on-the-Lake to experience award-winning vintages amid acres of vineyards. Avant-garde to traditional estates oer groups plenty of choice for style and taste in the region.
