NATURAL AMPHITHEATRE
AT PARC JEAN-DRAPEAU
An ambitious plan to redevelop a portion of Île
Sainte-Hélène includes an immense natural
amphitheatre with seating for 65,000, the
creation of a grand promenade, and improved
connections to public transit and key attrac-
tions such as the Biosphère. The project will be
completed in 2019.
For Planners: The new amphitheatre will host
small- and large-scale events as well as shows
and festivals throughout the year.
CITÉ MÉMOIRE:
MONTRÉAL EN HISTOIRES
Montréal's storied past comes alive via the Cité
Mémoire augmented-reality walking tour. Devel-
oped by Montréal-based Space & Dream, dozens
of stories are told via words, music, photos and
videos projected onto walls, cobblestones and
trees throughout Old Montréal and the Old Port.
Highlights include the founding of Montréal, the
legacy of Maurice "Rocket" Richard, and the story
of Expo 67.
For Planners: Montréal en Histoires offers
guided group tours as well as a techno-historic
treasure hunt activity.
There's no better proof of Montréal's creative ingenuity than a collection of three-dozen legacy initiatives
established to commemorate the city's milestone 375th anniversary. Designed to transform how one
experiences this exceptional destination, the projects represent collaborative efforts among the city's best
artistic, technological, scientific and social influencers and builders.
The ambitious projects honour the past and showcase the future. The result is a feast for the senses,
numerous new pathways of discovery, and the next evolution of this extraordinary and spirited city.
Here's a closer look at a few of these projects.
